Tim has recently retired from the Irish National Transport Authority (NTA). In the role of Director of Public Transport Services (PTS) Tim had overall responsibility for all public transport services (bus, tram and train) across the State of Ireland ensuring safe, effective and inclusive services.  Tim’s directorate had a budget of approximately €1.2 billion in 2023 and seven teams with 95 staff. 

Tim also had responsibility for service development programmes including Bus Connects network redesigns in Dublin and Cork. An exciting programme Tim launched is known as Connecting Ireland; a project dedicated to the introduction of new rural bus services including App-based Demand Responsive Transport.

Prior to this role Tim was Head of Ticketing at the NTA and oversaw the introduction of the Leap card scheme, Ireland’s national smart ticketing platform.

Tim’s earlier career included five years with Translink in N Ireland and 16 years in the private sector in various roles in logistics.
